Using .uk advance search "penny black" site: produces '1690 results' - but only 254 are actually listed. 5 years ago a top 100 of any subject would hardly be reached, but you've grown a lot bigger than that as a research database. Why then, though, is google restricted to a small top 100? There will be quite a few searches using bog basic intelligence that will result in more than 100 thread hits. I haven't got time to work my way through that many results and as I've said before, I use word combinations to narrow down what I'm after. I did not search for penny using google, I was trying to show that the top of page board search will give far more results for a single word search based on actual posts and not just threads. So the other 2,500 threads cannot be easily found that way!
